TECHNOLOGY

A highly sophisticated camera now allows us to provide you with a more thorough medical analysis of your retina; the layer that lines the back of the eye, senses light, and creates impulses that travel through the optic nerve to the brain. This digital retinal imaging system takes photographs of the retina. This procedure assists Dr.s Morioka and Penza in the early detection of many disorders, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and other vision threatening conditions. The photos become part of your medical records for comparison with photos from future exams. This allows us to observe even the smallest amount of change from the previous examinations.

Stratus OCT Diagnostic Imaging

A powerful and revolutionary technology to diagnose a wide range of eye diseases, Stratus OCT is a quick, non invasive, non contact imaging system that utilizes a scanning laser to deliver high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the retina, all in the matter of seconds.

This highly advanced technology aids Dr.s Penza and Morioka in the early detection of glaucoma and other abnormalities of the eye, including: detached retina, macular degeneration (AMD), macular holes and more. When detected early, the potential for permanent loss of vision can be significantly reduced.

These detailed, x-ray-like images are useful in determining the need for treatment, the effectiveness of ongoing treatment or the safety of ceasing treatment.
